ANDYCAM's Speedy Costuming!
After attending conventions for the past 10 years there is still one thing I have trouble with, planning travel alongside cosplay. I always seem to be making big extravagant pieces that I somehow have to squeeze into the back of my car to get them everywhere. This time, however, I had the challenge to pick a costume to make that I could both fit into luggage to fly interstate and have completed in a very short amount

The weather and life has conspired against me but finally, here it is, if slightly blurry and windblown! This is another Papercut La Sylphide which you may recognise from My Lady in Red post. The fabric might look familiar too, it has been very popular in the blogosphere/Instagram sewing circles. Beanies for McGrath Foundation- Pink up!
Grief never ends. But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is a price of love.- Author Unknown This time of year is super hard for me. The countdown to the day when my mum should be celebrating her birthday and then the day of her passing. She was the most beautiful, caring, amazingly talented woman I have ever met and cancer took her away, way too

Resignations Coat – Part Two
Happy New Year Singerettes! I hope you all had a great Christmas and that Santa brought you lots of sewing goodies.I used part of my Christmas break to finally finish the Resignations Coat which I’ve been working on for much longer than I intended! It’s hard to sew a wool coat when it’s so nice and hot outside plus I hit a few snags along the way. Now that it’s done I’m actually really proud of it and looking forward

Resignations Coat – Part One
Do you suffer from the Winter sewing blues too? While I love a good sewing day when it’s raining outside it can be hard to find motivation for sewing once it starts to get dark in the early afternoon. My sewing room has poor lighting and it’s not much fun taking outdoor photos of finished garments with the winter weather ruining your plans. Here in Wellington right now the daffodils are up, the Kowhai trees are in fu

Sewing for my boys
In April this year, my two boys will celebrate their birthdays. My eldest will turn 11 and my youngest will turn 9. They seem to be growing up way to fast !!Today whilst sitting here contemplating what to write for a blog post, I was struck with how much of an influence my boys have been on my sewing. In fact, I would never have started sewing if it wasn’t for my two boys, and their sometimes very quirky fashion styl
